THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT - EPISODE FOUR

THE GATHERING STORM

After the excitement of last week's declaration of war, episode 4 of The Book of Boba Fett was not the episode everyone was expecting. However, it did fill in some interesting gaps in the storyline for Boba Fett. After episode four, we must admit that while the dual timeline can explain much of the storyline, the viewer can feel a little jarred with the switching storylines. But this episodes dive into the past finally gives us some much-needed answers about Boba's past. Let's look at the important details of this week's episode.

MEETING FENNEC SHAND

The episode begins by showing Boba Fett in the Bacta tank, indicating that the episode is starting with a flashback. This flashback unpacks the last missing pieces to Boba Fett's history and unpacks how he met his loyal ally, Fennec Shand. After leaving the ruins of his Tusken Raider friends, Boba begins traveling and comes across the wounded Fennec Shand. Out of necessity, he takes her to a Mod Parlor, where her abdomen is installed with cybernetics. Fennec pays off her debt to Boba by helping him retrieve his ship from Bib Fortuna in a fun-filled action sequence.

DESTROYING THE SARLACC

They take the ship to find Boba's armor in the pit of the Sarlacc. Of course, we know its not in there because the Jawas stole his armor before he was conscious after escaping the Sarlacc. Together, they vanquish the Sarlacc, and Fennec and Boba agree to be loyal to each other. Boba admits that his time with the Tusken Raiders changed him, and he now understands the value of having a devoted group of people around him. He says to Fennec: "You can only get so far without a tribe." This recognition of needing to have a tribe around him for strength will likely have some interesting repercussions in the episodes coming up.

OVERTURNING BIB FORTUNA

Back in the present, we discover Boba has been fully healed by using the Bacta tank. This is a good thing because he will have to be strong and capable of succeeding in the coming battle against the Pyke Syndicate. His years with the Tusken Raiders made him understand the meaning of supporting others and, in turn, being supported by them. His longing for loyalty spurs him to overthrow Bib Fortuna and declare himself as Daimyo. This loyalty will likely make the next episode interesting as he searches for supporters in the war against the Pyke Syndicate.

A war is coming to Tatooine, and this episode reveals the beginning of Boba's machinations to prepare for the imminent turmoil. Hopefully, we will get more details on this in Episode 5. While this episode may not have been what fans expected of the storyline, this episode has shown the last few puzzle pieces of Boba Fett's past and neatly sets up the coming episodes for excitement and intrigue.
